Beach Naturalist Training

Beach Naturalist Training is continuing online! Through curated webinars with local marine science experts, the Estuarium is excited to launch our first ever virtual Beach Naturalist Training program.

To receive a link to the first webinar please submit a volunteer form through our site by clicking the button below. Our volunteer team will then send you your webinar link via email.

New volunteers will need to attend the May 20th virtual volunteer orientation, the May 30th virtual Meet the Beach Training, and commit to three volunteer shifts during the summer.

Training will get you started as a naturalist with guest speakers and experts. You’ll learn more about our local environment and ways to help inspire others to protect and preserve our beaches. Our first webinar guest speaker will be Gernardo Chin-Leo from Evergreen State College teaching us the fascinating ecology of Puget Sound. Lead Beach Naturalists, Amanda Newsome and Sandy Zeiner, will also be covering local animal identification and give their tips to being a naturalist.

Online resources and materials will be provided for all Beach Naturalists.
