September 21: “What Toxic Chemicals are Detected in Puget Sound Mussels?” by Jennifer Lanksbury
October 19: “Innovative Solutions to Stormwater Run-off” by Brandon Slone and Nathan Nadernicek, WADOT Stormwater Monitoring and Research Analysts.
November 16: “Stormwater: Our Local Solutions” with presenters: Amy Georgeson, Tumwater Water Resources Specialist; Joe Roush, Olympia Environmental Services Supervisor; and Doug Christianson, Lacey Water Resources Engineer. Refreshments provided by Washington Foundation for the Environment.
January 18: “Atlantic Salmon Commercial Aquaculture in Washington State” Dr. Ken Warheit, WA Department of Fish and Wildlife will provide an update on the Farmed Atlantic Salmon “spill” and other aspects of farmed salmon.
February 15: “Seabird Predation and Freshwater Plumes” by Elizabeth Phillips, Pacific Seabird Group. Research on predator/prey interactions and how they are influenced by oceanographic processes.
March 15: “Chemicals in the Water – Findings from Lott’s Reclaimed Water Study” by Wendy Steffensen. Study of the issue of chemicals in our water.
